Hold Hamas Accountable!

I am angry at the senseless violence and loss of innocent life. My heart breaks for the families of the three Israeli teens who were kidnapped and murdered. It is hard to hope for or even expect restraint from the Israelis when responding to attacks like this one.  Restraint at the kidnap and murder of three teenagers, including a US citizen? Really? Here's the email I am sending to my US Senators, and encourage US citizens to do the same.  I urge readers from other countries to send similar letters expressing your own concern to your elected representatives and your foreign ministries. 

Dear Senator,

The murder of a US citizen from Hebron by Hamas requires a response more meaningful that the President's call for "restraint." I encourage you to propose the following to your colleagues in the United States Senate:

First, given that Hamas is now part of the ruling unity government, suspending US financial support of the PA is warranted.

Second, the Hamas members responsible for this heinous act should be arrested BY THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY and tried in a US court for capital murder; the Israeli system is notoriously more lenient than ours. That will tell us if the PA is truly interested in peace or not.

Finally, until such time as there has been accountability, all PA assets in the US should be frozen, and PA officials made PNG for travel to the US...including the UN.
